Ride-hailing platform Didi on Tuesday launched an express delivery service in 200 Chinese cities, which it said would allow users to send their small packages “quickly and cheaply” within their cities. Launched in collaboration with three local logistics partners, the on-demand service offers delivery for items that are needed urgently, such as food, medicines, and documents, and will be expanded to more than 300 cities by the end of June, the company said. The service has launched with a 15% discount campaign to attract new customers. The Chinese mobility giant has been offering house moving and freight transport services since June 2020 and is currently developing autonomous trucks for highway transport with Shaanxi Automobile Group.
