Chinese automaker BYD’s brand Denza plans to add advanced assisted driving functions to its newly-released SUV model N7 by the end of 2023. The autopilot mode will come first, and an urban autopilot option will follow in Q1 2024, expected to cover around 20 cities. The autopilot feature will ensure the vehicle comes to a shift halt if necessary, even from a speed of up to 120 kilometers per hour, according to Yang Dongsheng, BYD Group vice president. During the early July unveiling of Denza’s new car, sales lead Zhao Changjiang speculated that new-energy vehicles’ penetration of the high-end China market will top 60% by 2025.
